Amazon.com is teaming up with Samsung Electronics, and large media companies, including Warner Bros and Lionsgate to promote the "4K” ultra-high -definition TV. Amazon Instant Video service which serves thousands of movies and TV programs directly compete with Netflix, did not define the specifics of their collaboration in the publication on Monday.
However, Samsung and other consumer electronics makers hope that 4K TV offer four times the traditional high- definition video resolution - the carpet, the shape and the addition of sales.
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the South Korean technology giant said in a separate statement also will work with other distributors, including Netflix and cable operators Comcast and DirecTV to promote 4K TV. Ultra-high- def TV has been slow to take off, partly because of the high cost of new -fangled screens and lack of content. High- definition TV took years to become mainstream after TV prices fell and content have become widely available.
