Apple plans to release two new versions of its iPhone with a larger screen this year to meet competition from rival phone makers, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The report, which also rumors circulating for several weeks, tech blogs, indicates Apple will come out with the two devices in the second half of the year in 2014 and one would have to screen larger than 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) diagonally, compared with a four- inch screen on the current iPhone. The second model will have a screen larger than five inches, according to the report both will have metal casings.
However, Apple will not be using a curved screens used in some of its competitors, including Samsung and LG.
